A teenager has died today on Grand Isle from an apparent drowning that occurred just off the island's Memorial Bridge.
Two others are hospitalized after being rescued.
The Gazette reported earlier today that the Coast Guard was dispatched after being called by Grand Isle Police to reports of people having been pulled into the water near the island's rock jetties.
FOX-8 has reported tonight that two were rescued and have been taken to the hospital - including one who was airlifted.
Rescuers also recovered the body of a 17-year-old who died in the incident, which is still under investigation.
