Jan. 14 Middle School results: Rebels, Bulldogs secure sweeps

Boys' Basketball

LCO 38, ED White 28

The LCO Bulldogs used an opening-quarter buzzer beating time line 3 pointer by Terrance Pitre to go ahead 8-5 and never looked back. Despite ED White cutting the deficit to 4 in the second half, the Bulldogs were able to hold on and extend their lead to double digits with some clutch free throw shooting from Carter Breaux, Buddy Fonseca and Terrance Pitre.

Pitre lead the Bulldogs with 12 points, Dax Guidry had a solid game scoring 7 in the post and Myles Rousse also tallied 6 points.

Ben Guidry had a game high 19, including 4 three pointers to lead the Cardinals.

West Thibodaux 38, Bayou Blue 18

West Thibodaux used a 30-11 halftime lead to cruise to a win over Bayou Blue

An extremely balanced scoring effort saw Blaize Benoit, Trey Richard, Khyren Folse, Ricky Hall and VonDarius Brown all chip in 6 points each.

Nyla Lyons led the Lady Bulldogs to their 3rd victory of the week, this time over the ED White Lady Cardinals

A balanced effort by the Lady Bulldogs had Nyla Lyons (10 points) Claire Rebstock (9 points), Addilyn Dufrene (8 points) filling up the stat sheet.

West Thibodaux 29, Bayou Blue 6

A huge 21-point first quarter set the tone for the game for the Lady Rebels. The smothering West Thibodaux defense held Bayou Blue to only 1 total field goal for the game.

The Lady Rebels were lead in scoring by Journey. Johnson with 12, Jakaria Johnson added 9.
