Lady of the Sea General Hospital has received COVID-19 vaccine doses and has started to administer them to the public today.
The hospital set up a drive-thru clinic in their parking lot today for vaccine administration.
As of now, the hospital is only vaccinating adults who meet the criteria by the Louisiana Department of Health.
The vaccinations are by appointment only and individuals 70 or older who have signed up for the vaccine at one of the hospital's locations will be receiving a call to schedule an appointment over the next few days.
If you're over 70 and have not yet signed up, but want the vaccine, you're encouraged to call 985-632-6401 to get your name placed on the list.
For those coming in for their appointment for the vaccine, please wear a mask while remaining in their vehicle for the vaccine administration, bring a government issued photo ID, and wear clothing that will allow access to the upper arm. Once again, the vaccine will be administered by appointment only.
