Two are presumed dead in a Friday helicopter crash in the marsh near the Lafourche/Terrebonne border.

Lafourche Parish President Archie Chaisson gave an update this afternoon, saying that a concerned citizen saw the aircraft fall from the sky, then make a "splash" in the marsh, prompting a call to authorities.

Workers searched throughout the day, then eventually did find the wreckage near the Point-aux-Chenes reserve.

Chaisson said 2 were aboard the chopper and both are presumed dead. No names have been released due to relatives being notified.

The helicopter was owned by RLC.

Chaisson said he wants Lafourche to join him in praying for the victims and their families in the tragic situation.
