An 18-year-old Cut Off man was killed this afternoon after his truck went off the roadway and struck two trees.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, Louisiana State Police Troop C Troopers were called to a single-vehicle crash on La. Highway 308 at East 43rd Street.
The crash, Troop C says, took the life of Kobi Simoneaux, 18, of Cut Off.
Investigation revealed that Simoneaux was traveling south on La. Highway 308 in a 2007 Ford F-150.
For reasons unknown to investigating officers, he ran off the roadway to the right and struck two trees.
Simoneaux was properly restrained, but suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Troop C says impairment is unknown to be a factor in the crash and a standard toxicology report is pending through the Lafourche Coroner's Office.
The crash remains under investigation.
This is now the 12th death from an automobile accident in Troop C in 2020.
