A Terrebonne Parish Grand Jury has opted to dismiss murder charges against a local man who was arrested in December following a shooting that killed a Raceland man.
The Grand Jury delivered a 'no true bill' decision in the second-degree murder case against LaJohn Thomas, 22. He was arrested following the shooting death of Kydriuan Thompkins in Houma in December 2020 after police identified him as a possible suspect.
A 'no true bill' decision means that the grand jury did not find adequate evidence in the case to go forward with prosecution, leading to charges being dropped.
It is not yet known if police have other suspects or leads in the incident.
