The Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office has been called to investigate after a house fire in Golden Meadow last night.
At 8:30 p.m. last night, Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 firefighters were called to a residential structure fire on West 221st Street in Golden Meadow.
Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames were reported exiting the structure. A second alarm was called and extinguishing tactics began.
Firefighters searched the residence and located a dog deceased, but no other injuries were reported. The house, firefighters say, was a total loss. The dog was a family pet.Â
The cause of the fire was undetermined and the State Fire Marshal's Office has been called to takeover the investigation.
