A Larose man is in police custody in Calcasieu Parish after he allegedly traveled across the state to have sex with a 16-year-old boy.
Phillip J. Guidry, 35, is charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation of a minor, according to KLFY. His bond is set at $400,000.
According to the report, deputies were called to a residence in Iowa (the town in Louisiana, not the state) on Sept. 26 in reference to a suspicious vehicle being on the premises.
When deputies arrived, they learned that Guidry had driven there for sexual intercourse with the teen. The boy allegedly told deputies that he met Guidry on the internet, and Guidry allegedly confessed to having sex with the child.
Guidry was arrested in May for possession of child pornography after a multi-agency investigation showed that he had multiple images depicting child porn on his electronic devices.
At the time, he was a deputy with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office. Upon learning of his arrest, he was immediately fired from his position.
