Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced today that a DWI checkpoint will be held tomorrow in the parish.

The checkpoint will begin on the evening of June 24 and will run through the early morning hours of June 25. At the checkpoint, deputies will be looking for drivers who are possibly impaired while checking for other traffic safety issues.

Checkpoints are designed to help raise awareness for these types of violations and to help make the highways in Lafourche safer for all motorists.
