The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a drive-by shooting in Thibodaux on Sunday - an incident which resulted in property damage, but no reported injuries.
Around 1 a.m. on October 11, Sheriff Craig Webre said his deputies were called to a shooting in the 400 block of Frederick Drive in Thibodaux.
Investigators learned that a black Dodge Charger pulled up alongside another car and subjects inside the Charger started shooting.
There was a woman inside the other car and a man standing just outside the car.
The rounds struck vehicles involved and near the incident, as well as a nearby residence.
But no injuries were reported.
LPSO says no arrests have been made in the incident, and Sheriff Webre is asking for public help.
Anyone with information on this crime is asked to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by phone at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org. Sheriff Webre said the incident was reckless and he wants the person(s) responsible to be brought to justice.
“There was such a blatant disregard for human life in this incident,” said Sheriff Webre. “Not only could the shooters have killed the victims they targeted, but there could have been innocent lives lost with this occurring in a residential neighborhood. I implore the public – anyone with information on this crime – to come forward to assist us in holding these people responsible for their actions.”
