Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre said he's joining the rest of our community in praying for a missing Raceland man last seen in Idaho.
Everette Jackson, a Raceland native, Central Lafourche graduate and LSU-Eunice basketball player was last seen on June 11 when he was tubing in a river in Idaho when witnesses say he was swept underwater.
A search has been ongoing to locate Jackson, but those efforts so far have been unsuccessful. Family, friends and community members have taken to social media in recent days in an attempt to raise awareness to the incident and to try and find clues that could possibly lead to a breakthrough in the case.
"I have spoken with Sheriff Wunder in Gem County and offered our assistance in any way needed,” said Sheriff Webre. “Unfortunately, they are dealing with exceptionally high water and adverse weather conditions which are complicating the search. They are using all resources available, including volunteers, to locate Everette. We continue to pray that Everette is found safe to end this nightmare for his friends and family.”
