The state of Louisiana is expected to remain in Phase II of the Federal Government's re-opening plan beyond Friday, per a report on WAFB.
The report says that the Governor is going to announce that decision at his 2:30 p.m. press conference today.
The decision comes as no surprise. Governor Edwards strongly hinted that the state would remain in Phase II last week at a press conference, citing a reversal in momentum that we've seen in COVID-19 recovery efforts.
The state, as a whole is seeing better hospitalization numbers, but in the past few days, those numbers have slightly gone up, which is making Governor Edwards and his team nervous that things are not going in the right direction.
Phase II was supposed to end on Friday, but that order will likely be extended. The length of the extension is unknown.
