Lorraine Griffin Bouzigard, 77, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 19, 2021 at Ochsner Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Ivy Bouzigard, Jr; son Kelly (Holly); daughter, Susan (Brian); grandsons, Chord, Ian, Michael, and Logan; great-granddaughter Lydian Sue; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Levy and Rozina C. Griffin; brother Levy Griffin II; and sister Bernice Griffin.
Lorraine was a retired high school English and Speech teacher known to her many students as Ms. Bouz. She loved reading and always had a book in her hands. She was a great supporter of the South Lafourche Library, Golden Meadow Library, and Golden Meadow Culture Center. She loved to travel and see new places, cultures and countries. She enjoyed her last 30 years at her camp in Grand Isle watching her grandchildren and their friends having fun on the beach. She especially enjoyed quiet time on the beach watching the seabirds and pelicans, which she would return to her camp and paint. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at both Oschner St. Anne and Oschner Main Campus for the outstanding respect and care she was given.
In following her wishes, a private service and burial will be held for the immediate family.
Falgout Funeral Home entrusted with funeral arrangements.
