Ellender girls' basketball coach Kenneth Dixon is hospitalized tonight after falling sick during the team's opening-round playoff win against Salmen.
Multiple sources have confirmed to The Gazette this evening that Dixon was at the game, but then had to leave after suffering an illness.Â
Sources say Dixon has been taken to the hospital, and there is no word yet on his condition, but multiple sources say that the situation was "serious."Â
The Lady Patriots won the game easily over Salmen to move to the Second Round of the State Playoffs.Â
After the win, several current and former players, as well as members of the Ellender community posted their support to the legendary coach, who has won hundreds of games with the Lady Patriots, including multiple state championships.Â
As more is available on the coach's condition, we will update.Â
