Several LSU football players have tested positive for COVID-19, according to multiple Baton Rouge-area reports.
Reports say that the team has more than 10 positive cases so far and at least 30 team members are in quarantine.
The positive tests, reports say, are part of a cluster of cases that have been reported at Tiger Land - a popular stretch of bars just off the LSU campus.
According to the reports, none of the cases are yet severe and the players have experienced just minor symptoms.
COVID-19 cases in the state and country have gone up in recent days, but hospitalizations have plateaued, if not have continued to go down in most areas of the country.
The reason, medical experts say, is because there's more community spread of COVID-19, which is infected more younger patients - the group that usually has the greatest chance at both survival and also at having just minor symptoms, if any at all.
LSU joins several prominent collegiate teams to report cases.
Alabama and Clemson both have come out in recent days saying they've seen clusters in their locker rooms.
