Several Nicholls football players have earned All-Conference honors, including one player who was named the Southland Conference's Offensive Lineman of the Year.

The Southland Conference released its postseason All-Conference Teams today, and lineman PJ Burkhalter was Nicholls' highest-ranking honoree, earning the Conference's Offensive Lineman of the Year, while earning All-Conference for the 3rd time in his career.

Nichols was well represented throughout the teams with players earning First and Second Team recognition on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, four Colonels earned First Team recognition with Burkhalter joined by receiver Dai'Jean Dixon, lineman Jair Joseph and running back Collin Guggenheim.

This is Dixon's 4th All-Conference season. He caught 71 passes for 1,002 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, including 4 100-plus-yard games.

For Guggenheim, the selection to All-Southland First Team marks an amazing second half of the 2021 season.

The freshman halfback started the season as a reserve. But after an injury to Julien Gums, Guggenheim emerged and rushed for 100-plus-yards in 5-straight games to end the season, scoring 9 touchdowns in those games.

Defensively, Nicholls has three players on the All-Southland First Team.

Defensive lineman Perry Ganci earned a spot after a strong season in the trenches. Joining him are defensive backs Kevin Johnson and Jarius Monroe.

On the Second Team, Nicholls is represented with tight end Lee Negrotto, lineman Evan Roussel and kicker Gavin Lasseigne earning recognition. Defensively, linebacker Hayden Shaheen and lineman Jequaries Martin earned their place on the list.

Quarterback Lindsey Scott and defensive lineman Myles Vigne also received All-Southland Honorable Mention honors.

Nicholls finished the season 6-5 and missed the playoffs. But several of the Colonels' All-Southland players are underclassmen.
