The South Lafourche High School Alumni Softball Tournament has been postponed.
Softball Coach Pete Melancon confirmed the news on social media today, saying that Governor John Bel Edwards' extension of the Shelter in Place Order made the tournament, originally scheduled for early-May, impossible to put on.
The extremely popular tournament, which raises thousands of dollars for South Lafourche High School athletics, will now be moved to the fall.
Melancon said he's working with officials at the Larose Civic Center Park and other local event organizers to decide a date that does not conflict with festivals, LSU, Nicholls or Saints games.
That date will be announced at a later time.
