Central Lafourche has hired a proven head coach to lead their program into the future.
Principal Chris Arnold announced that Drey Trosclair will be the Trojans' next coach, replacing Aaron Meyer who resigned from the program after 2 seasons to become the head coach at Morgan City.
Trosclair is a proven winner. He is the current head coach at Liberty and has also taken Ascension Catholic to the Dome in his career, amassing a 53-25 record.
Trosclair's new journey will be a rebuild.
The Trojans have been winless for 2-straight seasons and have been mostly non-competitive, being easily beaten in most of those games.
But the team has also battled youth and inexperience in recent years – a recipe that's tough in the rugged Bayou/River District.
But Trosclair will not be a stranger to a rebuild. He helped start Liberty's football program in recent years, and led the team to a playoff push in 2021.
He also took Ascension Catholic to the State Championship Game with several strong seasons in his time there.
Trosclair is an E.D. White graduate.Â
