The Lafourche Parish School District has announced its plan to return to school following Hurricane Ida.
The parish will enact a tiered plan for classes to resume – sorted by feeder group.
North Lafourche schools will return on Sept. 27, Central Lafourche schools on October 4 and South Lafourche schools on October 13-20.
Schools Superintendent Jarod Martin said in a video today that he thinks the plan is safe. Lafourche Parish schools had damages following Ida, but the majority of the parish's campuses are safe. Martin said it is possible that some students will be in different classrooms upon returning, but Lafourche's standard for high-quality education will not change.
